Husband and wife glass artists David and Melanie Leppla live and work in Vermont. David Leppla was educated at Kent State University where he obtained his Masters Degree in Fine Arts. He did a Fellowship at Konstfackskolan, Stockholm Sweden. He has received numerous awards for his innovative and creative glass work. The work of David Leppla can be found in many private and public collections throughout the United States. Melanie Guernsey Leppla has studied at the Pilchuck School of Glass with glass masters Dan Dailey and Fritz Dreisbach. Her original designs in hand-blown glass are distinguished by great attention to detail, combined with a delightful, lighthearted sensibility. Melanie's remarkable lantern series recreates the look of rice paper and natural forms.
